Scotto Partners Strengthens Its Tax Team with the Addition of Emilie Renaud as a Partner

Emilie Renaud, who until now headed the tax practice at the Paris office of Gowling WLG, has joined Scotto Partners and will work alongside Jérôme Commerçon.

Following the hiring of Coralie Oger and her team a little over eighteen months ago, the arrival of Emilie Renaud brings the firm’s number of partners to seven. Emilie Renaud has developed recognized expertise in tax structuring, particularly in transaction tax matters related to corporate divestitures, acquisitions, refinancing, and restructurings. Emilie primarily assists French and foreign corporate groups, executives, and entrepreneurs, and has been active for many years in the private equity and M&A sectors. In 2022, she played a key role in the acquisition of Quick by the HIG Capital fund from the Bertrand Group, advising the fast-food chain’s management on the tax aspects of their investment transaction. She also advised the Siblu outdoor hospitality group on structuring the acquisition of the Holding New Aire (“HNA”) campgrounds.

Emilie Renaud also represents her clients in tax audits and litigation.

Emilie Renaud holds a DEA in tax law from Panthéon–Sorbonne University (2005) and a Specialized Master’s in International Law and Management, awarded jointly by HEC and ESCP (2005–2007). She has been a member of the Paris Bar since 2007. She spent more than 10 years working at international business law firms: Orrick Rambaud Martel (2007–2011), McDermott Will & Emery (2012–2014), DLA Piper as counsel (2014–2018), and then Lamartine Conseil as a partner (2018–2020) before joining the Paris office of Gowling WLG to rebuild its tax practice in 2020.
