Scotto Partners is strengthening its employment law practice by promoting Bertrand Thibaut to partner and Alban Tourneux to counsel

These appointments come as Scotto Partners enters a new era following founder Lionel Scotto’s departure from his role as chairman at the end of 2023 and the implementation of a new governance structure. These appointments also reflect the firm’s commitment to promoting its talented professionals to partner status.

Bertrand joined Scotto Partners in 2018 to develop the labor law practice. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in advising executives—whether employees or corporate officers of LBO-financed companies, publicly traded companies, or family-owned groups—on the negotiation of management packages, employment contracts, or corporate officer agreements upon joining a company, as well as on negotiating and structuring severance packages for his clients upon their departure. He also advises the firm’s clients on matters related to share ownership, employee savings plans, and international mobility.

Alban joined Bertrand’s team in 2018 and now advises executives and corporate officers on negotiating and structuring their compensation packages, as well as on the labor and employment aspects of complex corporate transactions that impact the company’s operations, such as mergers and acquisitions and restructurings.

A member of the bar since 2009, Bertrand Thibaut holds a Professional Master’s 2 in European Business Law from University College Dublin (UCD) and a Magistère in Business Law from the Nancy School of Law. Bertrand began his career at the law firm Audit Conseil Défense in 2009 before joining Fromont, Briens & Associés in 2010, and then the Paris office of Clifford Chance in 2012.

Alban Tourneux holds a Master 2 degree in Human Resources and Social Protection Law from the University of Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and a Master 1 degree in Labor Law from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne. Alban began his career in 2013 at the law firm Bredin Prat and then joined Clifford Chance in 2015.
