SCOTTO & ASSOCIÉS Advises on Total’s Sale of Atotech

On January 31, 2017, the French oil company Total completed the sale of its subsidiary Atotech—a global leader in metallization processes—to the U.S. private equity firm Carlyle, as announced last October (Read Total's press release)
The sale of Atotech, headquartered in Berlin, for $3.2 billion (€2.9 billion) represents one of the largest primary LBOs to take place in Germany in recent years. With a presence in some 40 countries, Atotech employs more than 4,000 people, primarily in Germany and Asia, and its revenue exceeded 1 billion euros in 2015.
