Paris, May 2, 2012
Bridgepoint, the investment fund and majority shareholder of the Afflelou Group, has granted exclusive rights to Lion Capital, an investment fund, to acquire the Afflelou Group as part of its acquisition offer, which values the group at nearly 800 million euros.
With nearly 1,100 franchisees, the Afflelou Group posted revenue of 785 million euros in 2011.
Management, represented by its chief executive officers, Frédéric Poux and Didier Pascual, is being assisted in this transaction by the firm Scotto & Associés, with a team comprising Nicolas Menard-Durand and Adrien Badelon handling the legal aspects, and our tax team, in cooperation with Banque Privée 1818, handling the financial aspects, with a team comprising Frédéric Balochard and Benjamin Lobel.
Yet another transaction to the credit of the private equity team at Scotto & Associés, a leader in advising management teams on the largest LBO transactions over the past decade (most recently Spie, Converteam, and Picard).
Lion Capital was advised by the investment bank Lazard (Isabelle Xoual) and the law firm SJ Berwin (Maxence Bloch and Thomas Maitrejean).
