Scotto Partners is working alongside Akuo’s founders as part of their strategy to become independent, with support from ICG Infra

Press Release

The Group’s founders have just completed the buyout of the shares held by their previous controlling shareholder, Colam Entreprendre, and by other minority shareholders. ICG Infra, the infrastructure fund of asset manager ICG, agreed to provide the necessary financing to the founders of the Akuo Group for this buyout.

Akuo is a French independent producer of renewable and distributed energy, co-founded in 2007 by Eric Scotto and Patrice Lucas after they sold their first company, PerfectWind, to Iberdrola in July 2006. Akuo is active across the entire value chain: development, financing, construction, and operations. As of the end of 2021, Akuo had invested 2.8 billion euros, with a total capacity to date of 1.4 GW in assets currently in operation and under construction, and more than 5 GW of projects in development. With more than 450 employees to date, the Group—headquartered in Paris—operates in more than 15 countries worldwide.

ICG Infra, the ICG Group’s infrastructure fund, is also supporting the founders in this new phase of the company’s history and will help fuel the Group’s future growth, particularly by providing additional financial resources.

As part of this transaction, Akuo’s founders were advised by Scotto Partners, with a team led by Coralie Oger (partner), assisted by Pierre-Alexandre Schnyder on corporate and M&A matters, Jérôme Commerçon (partner), supported by Julien Pardieu (counsel) on tax matters, as well as Bertrand Thibaut (counsel) and Alban Tourneux on employment law matters.

Other legal advice:

Ayache (Olivier Tordjman, Gwenaëlle de Kerviler (partners), Mikaël Brainenberg, and Marie Forray) advised ICG Infra.

Winston & Strawn (Nicola Di Giovanni (partner) and Aurélie Camard) advised Colam Entreprendre.
